Odor Free Pet Home for Sale

There is no reason your precious furry family members should add to the stresses of selling your home. Gather the resources listed here and follow our cleaning tips for an odor-free home listing.  

You will need:

  • Carpet protection tape – we recommend Carpet Shield found at Home Depot 
  • Gallon jug of clean tap water
  • Vinegar 
  • Spray bottle
  • Dust mop – we love the microfiber O-Cedar (found at Wal-Mart )because the cover is washable
  • Mop and cleaner for all hard floors. Bona Premium Mop for Hardwood Floors cleans our floors and leaves a fresh smell. You can find the mop, cover, and cleaning solution at Wal-Mart
  • Pine Sol
  • Bleach
  • Cleaning bucket - $8 Libman from Wal-mart works and when we aren’t using it, we store floor cleaner products in it
  • Mop with washable head - check out the $10Libman at Wal-Mart
  • Rags    

Floors – Carpets and Rugs

  • Mix a gallon of water with a cup of vinegar
  • Fill a spray bottle with the mixture
  • Spray the entire area generously (the floor should be damp)
  • When floors are dry, vacuum
  • Spread carpet protection tape over highest traffic paths & stairs

Floors – Hardwood

  • Vacuum daily – close doors to rooms that are not used frequently – reopen for showing.
  • Dust mop – mop everywhere, but especially under furniture where the vacuum can’t reach. *Tip: use on walls, baseboards, and doors
  • Mop all surfaces with hardwood floor cleaner
